FLORA
The Dragoon Gulch Trail provides an
opportunity for visitors to enjoy first hand the
beauty of the foothill’s oak woodlands. The
abundant vegetation varies as they travel from the
seasonal creek at the bottom of the gulch to the
ridgeline to take in the splendid scenery. Native
oaks dominate the area along with the majestic
Ponderosa Pines. Several types of native shrubs
exist within the landscape with the Sticky Whiteleaf
Manzanita being prominent. The trail is especially
beautiful in the springtime when wildflowers fill
the slopes.
