CITY ADMINISTRATOR

It is a real privilege to serve as the City Administrator of Sonora.  I look forward to being part of the City Council and City employee team to continue the policies and programs currently in place.  The retiring administrator has left a solid foundation upon which to build continued success. 

My wife and I have been Tuolumne County property owners since 1994.  After several years of part time residency, we decided to make Tuolumne County our permanent home in the fall of 2005.  I have over thirty years of public agency and private sector planning and administration experience, previously working for the cities of Atwater and Los Banos and the County of Merced; and, owning and operating a planning and development consulting business.  I feel my experience, coupled with my undergraduate and graduate education in natural resource economics, planning and public administration, respectively, has equipped me to help the City team deal with the challenges that we will continue to face.  With the continued support of the City Council, and the dedication and hard work of the City employees, we will persevere. 

We still face uncertain times, but are beginning to see improvements.  With the combined efforts of the City, County and the Economic Development Authority, we now have the tools to implement our economic development goals.  It is especially encouraging to see the new and expanding businesses that are increasing employment opportunities for our residents and will eventually lead to increased property and sales tax revenues for the City.

I would also like to thank the City Council for their vote of confidence, the City staff for their warm welcome and the residents of Sonora for the opportunity to be of service.
