The 36th Annual Historic Sonora Christmas Parade will be this Friday, November 29th at 6:00 pm. This brightly lit night-time parade starts at the Historic Red Church and follows Washington Street to Restano Way.
Historic Downtown Sonora has been transformed almost overnight with all the holiday decorations up and the wreaths downtown sparkling with lights, the Christmas tree is in place and the merchants are festively decorating their shops all getting ready for the Holidays and the Annual Christmas Parade.
For folks out to enjoy this family event. This night-time parade is sure to get you in the Holiday spirit. The Great Mother Lode Brass and Reed band and Lucky CuZn’s will be playing Christmas Carols, before the parade, so join along or just relax and enjoy the traditional music. All entries are festively decorated and Christmas themed music fills the air. Our local radio personalities will be announcing each entry as they go by. As an added feature there is the Holly “Jolly” Trolley, making its rounds and parade goers can ride for free. Holly Trolly that will start at 3:00 pm and run until 9:00 pm
After the Parade Santa will be making his way through the historic streets of town visiting with little ones, taking pictures and of course spreading Holiday Cheer. He will rest for a little while at the Heart Rock Cafe, which is located at 1 S. Washington Street across from Courthouse Park. Merchants will hold open houses with goodies and extended shopping hours. Two-holiday fairs are going The Home Town Crafter’s, which is at the Sonora Opera Hall, located at 250 S. Washington Street and the Fire on the Mountain Christmas Festival, which is at the Mother Lode Fair Grounds, located at 220 Fair View Lane
